Split - Framed Poster
“Split” is a dark and unsettling digital painting that explores the duality
within every person—the constant battle between opposing forces. The
piece features a female head split down the middle, her expression
eerily neutral despite the violent separation. Strands of bloody flesh
pull tightly between the two halves, barely holding them together as
they strain against one another. Deep bruising surrounds her head and
eyes, hinting at an internal struggle that has taken its toll.
Each side of her face is a stark contrast to the other. One half with light
hair, eyebrows, and lashes, its eye an abyss of pure black. The other is its
opposite—black hair, dark brows, and lashes, with an empty, white eye.
Behind her, a blood-splattered background reinforces the violent tension
at play.
Split symbolizes the internal war between light and dark, good and bad,
right and wrong. Yet, which side is which? The answer remains ambiguous, as
both could be justified. The struggle is endless, tearing the self apart in a
desperate attempt to reconcile what cannot be separated. Inspired by
the my own emotions and observations of the world, this piece serves as a
haunting reflection of human nature—how we fight ourselves when we
refuse to accept who we truly are.
